Some say that money is the root of all evil, but at the same time, very few can argue against the fact that money makes the world go round. The United States is one of the wealthiest nations in the World, and while the economic situation in the United States is much better than that of China or India, money, or the lack thereof, is one of the biggest issues plaguing the Unites States of America. One of the key issues that have risen in recent times on the media is the widening wage gap between the rich and the poor, and the debate on whether or not an increase in minimum wage could solve the problem. While the whole nation would like to solve the issue of income inequality and minimum wage, the focus of this argumentative paper will be on the state of California. An increase in minimum wage should be adopted since everyone deserves to earn a livable age, especially when the reality of the economic situation in America points to the fact that the gap in income between the rich and the poor is greater than ever before.
